Every week or two, we will feature an animal available for adoption through various shelters and rescue organizations in Arizona. All of the animals were photographed by AZ Pet Professional member, Jill Flynn of Visual Harmony Photography.

Shelters are filled to capacity with animals. The lucky ones get rescued by a no-kill shelter or other rescue organization that can care for them until they get adopted. The not so lucky ones end up at the pound or a high kill shelter. Everyone involved with animal rescue knows that mother animals and their babies are the first ones to be euthanized for the simple reason that there are not enough resources or time to care for them. Next on the list are sick and injured animals. Their plight is heartbreaking. Each time an animal is adopted, that frees up space for another one to be saved. Please share and help spread the word to find not only the animals featured here a loving home but all homeless animals around the world.

If you are an Arizona non-profit animal rescue organization and need photographs taken of your rescued animals please contact Jill Flynn at jill@visualharmonyphotography.com. Jill is also available to teach volunteers how to take better pictures.

If you are a non-profit animal rescue organization located in another state or country and need photographs taken of your rescued animals, please connect with HeARTs Speak, an international, non-profit organization of artists helping animals.

Featured Rescue of the Week ~ Rusty

RUSTY is available for adoption through Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue.

RUSTY is a handsome 2½ year old Rretriever/Cattle Dog mix.  He is a gentle, easy-going, 50-pound guy that loves other dogs. He is very attuned to nature . . . sniffing the air for all the delightful scents coming his way.  He LOVES to go for walks - you won't find yourself an easier dog to go walking with on your evening strolls or morning walks.

Sweet Rusty is reserved and beautiful with his quirky ears, one up and one folded over and his gorgeous fluffy tail.  He is just beginning to know that people are caring, loving and can be trusted.  His early years were filled with neglect.

His perfect family includes another dog(s) and a family (best if no small children) who is willing to help him realize his greatness!  This gentle fellow has the softest coat, the deepest eyes and a curiosity of all things around him.   He's crate trained, neutered and current on shots.
