Every week or two, we will feature an animal available for adoption through various shelters and rescue organizations in Arizona. All of the animals were photographed by AZ Pet Professional member, Jill Flynn of Visual Harmony Photography.

Shelters are filled to capacity with animals. The lucky ones get rescued by a no-kill shelter or other rescue organization that can care for them until they get adopted. The not so lucky ones end up at the pound or a high kill shelter. Everyone involved with animal rescue knows that mother animals and their babies are the first ones to be euthanized for the simple reason that there are not enough resources or time to care for them. Next on the list are sick and injured animals. Their plight is heartbreaking. Each time an animal is adopted, that frees up space for another one to be saved. Please share and help spread the word to find not only the animals featured here a loving home but all homeless animals around the world.

If you are an Arizona non-profit animal rescue organization and need photographs taken of your rescued animals please contact Jill Flynn at jill@visualharmonyphotography.com. Jill is also available to teach volunteers how to take better pictures.

If you are a non-profit animal rescue organization located in another state or country and need photographs taken of your rescued animals, please connect with HeARTs Speak, an international, non-profit organization of artists helping animals.

Jill's past year reflections......

Posted by
Here are some of the 50 furry faces I photographed at Friends for Life Animal Rescue in Gilbert, AZ  on September 2, 2012. This photo session was recorded and I hope to have a video posted in the near future.  I am back from a long road trip up the Oregon Coast and Vancouver, Canada.  Road trips are good for the soul and mind – I am refreshed and back to work.  Lots of things happening. Thrilled to announce that I am the Education Director for HeARTs Speak.  I am extremely thankful for this opportunity.  It’s a wonderful non-profit organization of artists helping animals.  Lots of projects and collaboration currently in the works …. all aimed at helping and saving animals.  Will be sharing more information about these projects as they develop.  I am dreaming big … it’s the only way to dream!
And I’ll say it again and again …. ADOPT don’t shop.  When you adopt an animal you make room for another one to be saved!
